Creating Inspirational Architecture Through Effective Collaborations

Événement passé

Architecture, as defined in Webster’s dictionary, is both the art and science of creating buildings. In today’s world of specialization, it is extremely difficult for any individual to develop exceptional skills in all areas of arts and sciences.  As a result, the greatest architecture is not the product of an individual designer that is awarded the original commission. It is ultimately the product of the collective minds of creative architects and inventive engineers, along with other project participants, in a collaborative process that brings the best design solutions to life. This teamwork approach is what brings the most complete « firmness, commodity, and delight » to today’s greatest architecture.

This presentation will review the history of relationships between architects and engineers, provide insights on how our European counterparts embrace collaboration, as will share examples of effective collaborations on today’s award-winning projects.
