Montreal, August 25, 2020
As you know, the 2019-2020 season ended abruptly following government directives banning our March and April conferences. For the 2020-2021 season, the Montreal Structural Engineers (MSE) committee sent a survey to its mailing list to guide our actions. Many of you answered the call and we thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and greatly appreciate the good feedback.
Following the results of the survey, MSE will continue their activities without waiting for the end of the health crisis and online events will be prioritized at least for the beginning of the year. Indoor conferences will restart when the conditions will be favorable. We are currently working with the ETS to establish the conditions that would allow us to present indoor conference starting in November.
The non-profit organization MSE has been working since 1974 with the mission of promoting professional exchanges and the development of structural engineers in the Montreal region. The costs associated with MSE activities are fully provided by our sponsors, which are companies and organizations that have the generosity year after year to provide a membership fee to offer free conferences and events. We invite you to consult the list of these sponsors on our website.
We are currently working to complete the program for the next 2020/2021 season and we invite you to send us your suggestions and comments by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The conferences will be added to our website as they are confirmed to us. We invite you to consult it regularly.
As usually, we will send an email containing the description of the conference. There will be a link in this email that will allow you to register for free using the GoToWebinar link. Please register quickly. We will adjust our way of doing things according to the number of people registered.
On behalf of the members of the MSE organizing committee, I thank you for your assiduous presence at our events and hope that we will have the chance to have you among us during our events, whether online or indorr. Do not hesitate to transfer the event to your colleagues working outside the Montreal area.
Stay safe and well,
Steve Parent, Eng., M.Eng.
President of MSE
What is MSE?
Montreal Structural Engineers is an association founded in 1974 to foster professional development and exchanges between structural engineers working in the Montreal area.
The year’s program generally includes seven conferences. These conferences, which are free of charge and require no registration, are announced directly to associate members by e-mail.
Unless otherwise specified, meetings are held at McGill University or École de technologie supérieure on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, from September to April, except December.
Each month, the presence of high-profile speakers is made possible thanks to the financial support of the sponsors and the support of many Montreal firms and universities in the region, the energy of the organizing committee and the close relations with the Montreal Chapter of the CSCE.
